Family Services is a non-profit organization that protects, heals and cares for children and families throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Family Services is strongly committed to protecting children and vulnerable individuals from abuse and exploitation. When traumatic situations occur, our staff is there to assist the individual or family with their journey of healing and recovery. Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.

Family Services has a position for a Youth and Family Specialist within the SELF (Support, Education, Life Skills and Family) regional concept serving Brown, Door, Shawano, Kewaunee and Outagamie Counties.  This individual will provide hands-on structure and supervision, skill-based activities, life skills education, parenting education, and recreational activities to adults, families and at risk adolescents within their home, school, and community setting to reach their identified goals. The work with the SELF population could include a variety of hours to meet the service needs, the bulk of the hours will be evenings and weekends.  This position can be based out of our Fox Valley or Green Bay location. 

Knowledge of family dynamics, abuse, neglect, criminality and social dysfunction is required.  Qualified candidates will embrace family support concepts and demonstrate an attitude that is accepting, non-judgmental and culturally competent.  Successful candidates will respect families of diverse socio-economic status, race ethnicity and be able to engage them in a dialogue regarding personal issues. 

A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field with previous experience working with at-risk population is highly preferred.  The position requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle.  Bilingual skills a plus!
