Job Summary
The Private Client Institutional Services (PCIS) Trainee program is a 24-month rotational introduction to the key disciplines of Financial Planning, Trust (Personal, Corporate, Institutional), Retirement Plan Services, Insurance (Property & Casualty, Executive Risk), Employee Benefit Consulting, Investment Management, and Private Banking. Trainees can either be recent graduates from college with a curriculum focus relevant to PCIS or colleagues who meet the qualifications for the position and are looking to accelerate and/or redirect their career. Ideal candidates may be recent college graduates ready to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam.

The PCIS Trainee will experience a combination of largely on the job training with selective classroom training to enhance their development. Within the rotations (exact timing and sequencing may vary), the trainees will go through a structured sequence of tasks to learn the fundamentals of the discipline and start to contribute to day to day deliverables as early as possible.

Compliance Statement
Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn't meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated's anonymous Ethics Hotline.

    Job Accountabilities
  • Learn and understand the Private Client Institutional Services environment including aspects such as the sales and service delivery model, distribution channels, client and industry segmentation, financial planning approach, investment management story, growth strategies, brand, regulatory and compliance standards, and infrastructure, etc.
  • Under guidance, support the successful execution of assigned initiatives, through project planning, coordination of partnerships, project management against defined key milestones, communications between all stakeholders.
  • Expand knowledge and expertise through ongoing specialized training.
  • Complete required program training and assignments, obtaining mandatory industry licenses within prescribed timeframes, mastering assessments, and meeting minimum performance and production standards.

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics, Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics with a GPA of at least 3.6, Preferred

  • Less than 2 years 0 - 3 years of experience, Required
