Job Description:
The Program Coordinator - Bariatric is a clinical liaison for the inpatient aspects of the Bariatric Surgery Program. Ensures optimal patient care and outcomes during hospitalization and maintains contact with physicians and patients. Coordinates with hospital departments that provide care for bariatric surgery patients to ensure those patients' needs are met. Provides education to patients, staff, and the community on bariatric services at ThedaCare. Essential Job Duties:Acts as clinical liaison and resource for the in-house aspects of the program.Assists with pre-op and post-op patient education.Oversight of education for hospital staff and the community on the bariatric program.Assumes role of bariatric program advocate and ambassador.Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development.Oversight of the Bariatric Performance Improvement program

Job Qualifications: Experience: 3-5 years of Hospital nursing experience required, preferably Med-Surg or Critical Care. Previous Bariatric Surgery experience preferred.Education: BSN required.Licensure/Certification: Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse licensure.
