Tire Mounting Area - Tire and Lube Express Service Technician

* Communicates and responds effectively to Customer questions about automotive services, locates
merchandise, and provides requested assistance, such as verifying whether a particular automotive product is in stock.
* Understands and operates Bay Support System (BSS) computer equipment, including the hand held terminal and BSS screen to quickly and accurately process Customer services while following Company procedures, such as torque quality control checks.
* Performs Technician duties as required by procedure, such as changing oil and oil filters, replacing or rotating tires, balancing tires, repairing flats, and testing and installing batteries while verifying and communicating vehicle information to other technicians.
* Ensures a safe and clean environment by maintaining safety standards, maintenance, and cleanliness as required by Tire and Lube Express (TLE) standards, such as cleaning and maintaining service area equipment and keeping tools and supplies neat and organized.
*Monitors area for signs of shrink and potential security risks, keeps service area safe and secure and contacts management and/or In-Store Loss Prevention when problems are identified.
*Ensures safety practices are followed within the service area, such as securing bay chains and wearing safety glasses, bump hats, and other safety equipment when applicable.
* Completes and maintains required paperwork, reports, and logs, such as Used Battery Shipping Log, Customer Generated Used Oil Log, Used Tire Disposal Log, and Tire Tread Act documentation.
* Responds to spills and accidents as they occur following Company procedures and regulations for dealing with hazardous fumes and chemicals.
* Merchandising
Demonstrates and utilizes product and technical knowledge about TLE services and merchandise by providing accurate and complete information to Customers to assist with their automotive service decisions, such as oil, tire, and battery purchases.
* Maintains in-stock by properly receiving and stocking TLE merchandise on racks, shelves, and risers, including regularly pulling merchandise from back room and restocking the service area.

Demonstrates dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned shifts, and completing responsibilities in a timely manner.
* Interacts politely and effectively with Customers and Associates by representing Wal-Mart Culture, including the Ten Foot and Sundown Rules.
* Talks with, listens to, or signals others to effectively exchange information; receives or gives direction; and effectively works as part of a team by responding to assistance requests throughout the facility.

Skills / Requirements
* Ability to complete mathematical computations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
* to interact and communicate effectively and credibly with Customers, Associates, and Suppliers.
* to learn more about automotive services and utilize product information to meet basic Customer needs.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.
* Ability to perform technician duties, such as balancing and installing tires, changing oil and filters and installing new batteries.
* Ability to prioritize work assignments and complete assignments within established work routines.
* Ability to read, write, and understand printed materials, such as manuals, application guides, required paperwork, reports, logs, and electronic media.
* Ability to safely use pallet jacks, ladders, and other equipment, including key cutting equipment.
* Ability to stock and display merchandise in accordance with Company guidelines.
* Ability to work in extreme conditions that include weather, hazardous materials, and noise levels.
* Knowledge of and ability to apply Company and department policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of and ability to safely use hand tools, such as impact wrenches, ratchets, sockets, jacks, and automotive lift equipment.
* Knowledge of and proficiency with the BSS equipment, such as the touch screen, scan gun, and the handheld device.
* Knowledge of TLE services, and automotive merchandise, and their functions, features and prices.
